Making worlds with others

Workshop organised by RCA students for the Masbro Elders Project

Making Worlds with Others is a collaborative initiative developed between the Royal College of Art (RCA) and the Masbro Elders Project. This project aimed to foster intergenerational exchange and creativity by organizing and leading workshops with elderly participants.

The workshops were designed to encourage self-expression and storytelling through various mediums such as painting, drawing, writing, and digital art. We also introduced participants to generative AI, helping them explore its potential for artistic creation and recording their memories in innovative ways. Through engaging prompts and personalized interactions, we collected heartfelt stories, anecdotes, and creative outputs from the participants.

The project culminated in a beautifully curated art book, Reminiscing, which combined their artworks, writings, and digital creations. Working on the book's design, layout, and production allowed our team to celebrate the unique perspectives and talents of the Masbro Elders.

This project has been an enriching journey, offering valuable insights into bridging generational divides through art and technology.
